Testimonials

“Alice Goodwin has demonstrated her remarkable talent and dedication in the equestrian world. In a short span, she has transitioned from regional competitions to achieving national recognition. This includes numerous championships at WEF and the rest of the season in the hunters, jumpers, and Equitation. She has also had wins and top placings at National Championships such as Devon, Junior Hunter Finals, Capital Challenge, Pennsylvania National Horse Show, and the National Horse Show. This success is due to her unwavering commitment to the sport and the hard work it takes to get to the top. Alice is a perfect student. In lessons she listens well and can put the concepts that are asked of her to work readily. She asks the right questions if she doesn’t get something right and keeps a level head as she is working things out. Alice has a great attitude and personality and is a joy to be around in the barn. She is always on time and prepared for lessons and showing which also sets a wonderful example for her barn mates! I have coached many students over my 30 years of being a professional and have had several go on to ride for NCAA teams. For all of these reasons, I feel that Alice has all of the qualities to be a valuable asset to any college team. ”

“My name is Ali Sweetnam. I own and operate Sweet Oak Farm in Wellington Florida and am also a USEF/USHJA licensed ‘R’ judge for Hunter and equitation. I have had the pleasure of watching (and judging) Alice Goodwin grow as a rider and a horse woman over the past two years. Alice’s love for the sport, and her animals, is apparent in her dedication both in and out of the show ring. The fact that she has learned how to adapt, and win, on so many different types of horses in all three rings of competition, is a testament to her versatility as a rider. This, paired with her easy-going personality, would make her an incredible asset to any team.”

“I am honored to write this letter on behalf of Alice Goodwin as she pursues the opportunity to ride at the collegiate level. As her advisor for a year and a half and her track coach last spring, I have had the privilege of witnessing her dedication, resilience, and ability to balance multiple commitments.

What I admire most about Alice is the way she has managed her demanding equestrian schedule while remaining committed to her academics. Despite frequent absences due to riding, she consistently took responsibility for her schoolwork—proactively meeting with teachers, staying on top of assignments, and ensuring she never fell behind. Her ability to stay organized, self motivated, and composed under pressure speaks to her exceptional work ethic.

Beyond the classroom, Alice demonstrated her competitive spirit and determination as a member of our track team. She took on one of the most challenging events—the hurdles—with courage and persistence, proving her willingness to push herself outside of her comfort zone. She is not only a hardworking athlete but also a supportive teammate.

Alice’s ability to balance academic and athletic commitments, her strong character, and her unwavering dedication make her an outstanding candidate for any collegiate program. I have no doubt that she will make a meaningful impact wherever she goes. Please feel free to contact me if you require any further information.”
